Breaks
Breaks are important to restore our focus and avoid fatigue. We generally cannot stay focused more than 90 minutes without a break. To improve fast we need to be focused.
Relax
After focusing for a longer period of time, we should let our brain rest without any strenious tasks. Generally the more we are able to relax our mind, the faster the recovery and ability to focus. If you want to maximize this effect consider taking a nap or meditate.
Food and water
To make sure our body have the proper fuel, we should eat something in each break. It does not have to be a meal every break, a banana can help in regaining some energy. Water should always be available at the desk. Remember to drink enough water!
Exercise
As the breaks here are mainly a break for our mind, it is a perfect time to exercise. Not only is it healthy and a requirement for high performance, it helps with our recovery and regulates our mood. Consider adding more exercise to your breaks, especially if you are prone to tilt.
Injury prevention
Longer sessions, and especially as we up the reps with high intensity practice, may lead to fatigue and injuries. To be able to play longer hours without getting injured, we incorporate stretches and strengthening exercises.
While injury prevention goes a long way, we may still get injured and need further exercises and rest. If your hands or arms hurt from gaming, it is highly recommended to talk to your physician before getting seriously injured.
